SevA Legal aid is a nonprofit organization founded by Anu Peshawaria, an internationally recognized professional attorney who is devoted to the advocacy and protection of legal rights on a global scale. Seva is devoted to providing professional advice to the immigrant community in America. New immigrants often face socioeconomic, matrimonial, and cultural problems and as a result of that often flout rules and get into various issues with the law enforcement agencies.
SevA has dealt with several such cases of women empowerment, child abuse, domestic abuse, discrimination, immigration problems and other day to day legalities of the immigrant community in the US. Many times even courts are unaware of laws governing these immigrants in their home countries. Without understanding these laws their decisions can never be just and globally applicable. This organization bridges the gap between this critical need and an essential service for people across the US, China, Vietnam, India, Fiji, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, and Pakistan.
SevA is composed of experienced professionals from US comprising of attorneys, lawmakers, leaders, accountants, software engineers, teachers and diplomats from all these countries who are now permanently settled in the US but were immigrants once upon a time and understand the depth of the problem. For over 20 years, Anu has dynamically planned action initiatives and extended her services, time, and energy to help destitute and oppressed people realize fulfillment of their human rights, in the USA, India, and other countries. Her selfless energetic approach to her professional career has provided exemplary relief to hundreds of people who perceived they had no hope nor money to procure legal advice or assistance. She is the recipient of a variety of prestigious awards for her exemplary legal and athletic abilities and for her tireless dedication to the human and legal rights of immigrants, and other impoverished, oppressed, and persecuted people from around the globe.
